Eldon Square has been transformed thanks to a £170 million investment involving a series of development projects that have delivered two new restaurants for Strada and Wagamama along the western side of Old Eldon Square, 22,000 sq ft of new retail along Blackettbridge mall, a new state-of-the-art bus station, which opened in March 2007, and in February 2008 the new mall, St George’s Way opened providing 48,000 sq ft of retail space. The final phase of the redevelopment, St Andrew’s Way, was completed in spring 2010 and the new mall houses 25 new shops including Hollister, Apple and a 4 storey Debenhams as the anchor store.
